How do I add a repeating event/job?

A repeating event is an event that you will do more than once and is done on a regular (although not necessarily frequent) basis.

By setting up a repeating event you can save time by not having to enter every event manually.

To add a repeating event you will start by placing your mouse on ‘Add New’, it is located in the grey banner towards the top of the page.

Then click ‘Event’ from the menu list that drops down.

Now you will need to tell Malinko the client in which the event is for; type the client name in the search box provided.

Then click the ‘Search Malinko’ button situated on the right.

Malinko will display the results for you and to begin adding the event just click the ‘+ New Event’ button next to the relevant client.

Next you will have options to select for this event.

Here are some descriptions to help you.

  1. “When” Section – When will the event happen.
    1. Date of Event – When will you do the event
    2. Start Time – Time of which your event begins.
    3. End Date – The ending date of the event.
    4. End Time – Time of which your event ends (NOT the date when the repeating cycle ends – this is in the how often section.)
  2. “What” Section – Choose the Services you will perform on this event.
    1. Tick all the services you will be doing on this event.
  3. “How Often” Section – This section is specifically used to customise repeating events
    1. Firstly you can choose the frequency type of your event, either ‘Weekly’ or ‘Monthly’ are available on the left hand side of this section.
    2. Set the period of time over which you want the event to repeat. e.g Every 2 weeks or 3rd week of every month.
    3. Now tick the boxes of the day(s) the event will happen.
    4. The final part is selecting when the repeating cycle should finish.
      1. Until Date – The final date of the whole cycle.
      2. Number of events – How many times the job needs to be done before the cycle finishes.N.B. Select either Until date or Number of Events, do not fill in both.
  4. “Who” Section – Select who will do the job; your employees are displayed here.
    1. Tick all the employees that will be present on the event.
  5. “Additional Info” Section – This is where you can store extra information about your events.
    1. You can choose to set the charge for your event.
    2. Also include any notes specific to the event.
    3. If you require custom fields then you can contact Malinko support and we would gladly assist you by adding them into your system.

Once you have selected all your options for the event you can save it by clicking the ‘Submit’ button located at the bottom right hand side of the page.

A green notification will appear, this indicates that your event has now been entered into your Malinko system successfully.
